Pearls of Elul 5786 - Day Ten

August 22 | 9 Elul

There is something very sacred about returning each fall to the High Holy Days. Elul, this month before Rosh Hashanah, invites us to pause, to listen more closely, and to begin the journey back – to ourselves, to one another, and to the people we hope to become. Elana Arian and Noah Aronson’s song We Return captures this movement with both tenderness and hope. As we move through Elul toward Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we are reminded that teshuvah is not simply about starting over; it is about returning again and again to what is most true and meaningful within us. The song becomes a musical companion for this season, inviting us to notice where we have wandered, to open our hearts to change, and to trust that the path home is always waiting for us. In the sacred sound of We Return, we hear the promise at the heart of these days – that no matter how far we may have traveled, we can always turn, listen, and return.
