Transcript:

We live in a world where "out" matters so much, and as we enter the third week of Elul this year, I want to talk about the "in."

That's what we focus on this time of year, is the "in," who we are and what we're becoming.

Over the course of the past months, I've had an incredible teacher at our gym.

She does a breathing and balance class and brings in what she knows from yoga, and she tells us that each time we come together for the 45 minutes that we're exercising, practicing balance and breathing, that what we're doing is not a work out, but instead is a work in.

In a world which asks for us to reflect so much on the outside, we have the time right now to turn inward.

Let's use this time not just for our workouts, not just what's happening somewhere else, even words that come from a pulpit, from a bima, or from what others are saying, but what's resonating on the inside, and how that might help us to grow into a world with deeper balance and with a heck of a lot more breath.

Shana Tova.
