A prayer, translated in to English, from Reb Nachman of Bratslav:
May it be Your wish, Adonai, our God and God of our ancestors, to do away all around the world with war and bloodshed, so that a great and wondrous peace will last in the world. So that one nation will not take up sword against another nation. And so that they learn war, no more.
Instead, may all the inhabitants of the earth just recognize and truly know the truth that we did not come into this world to fight and to bicker and not for hatred or jealousy, complaining or bloodshed. We came into this world just to know You.
May You be blessed forever and so have mercy upon us and fulfill for us the verse where it is written “I will grant peace in the land and you shall lie down with no one who makes you afraid and I will rid the land of vicious beasts and the sword will not pass through your land and justice will roll in just like water and charity, like a mighty stream, because the land will fill with divine wisdom just as water flows into the sea.”
And may this be Your wish and let us say, Amen
