Temple Emanuel's Monthly Tzedakah Collection Drive

This month's collection drive has two tzedakah options - we hope that you will contribute to one or both!

Kitchen Supplies & Gift Card Drive for Newly Arriving Refugees:

Temple Emanuel's Immigration Sub-Committee is collaborating with Church World Service (CWS) and Jewish Family Services to collect specific kitchen items and gift cards for newly arriving refugees.  In addition to the usual rate of settlement of refugees in our region, hundreds of Afghan families are expected to be arriving soon and some are already in Greensboro. We hope you will sign up to bring a specific new or lightly used kitchen item to Temple Emanuel from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 5. Please only bring what you signed up to contribute. CWS has limited space to store items before they are transported to refugee apartments. Again, you do not need to sign up to bring a gift card; you can bring as many gift cards as you want for any amount. CWS prefers Visa gift cards if possible.

We are also collecting gifts for the Children's Home Society (CHS)Toy Collection Drive!

CHS is accepting new, general items. They provide gifts to children of all ages. A variety of items in different colors and sizes—from infant to adult XL—are always welcomed.

Suggested items include:

• Diapers, Pull-Ups, and/or Wipes
• Baby Care Items
• Convertible Car Seats
• Booster Seats
• Books (for all age ranges)
• Shoes (all sizes & genders)
• Coats
• Dolls (all ethnicities)
• Legos
• Tablets (Any Brand and Age Range)
• Infant/Toddler Educational toys

Can I purchase gift cards?

Gift cards are always welcome, especially for teenagers!
