About the event
In moments of conflict and heartbreak, it can feel easier to turn away -- from the news, from one another, from the pain. Yet our tradition calls us instead to turn panim el panim, face to face, with our community. Join with our larger Temple Emanuel community for a gathering of reflection, learning, and conversation to process what is on our hearts about the Middle East. Together, through a mix of small group and large group conversations, we will seek to approach this moment with open hearts, deep listening, and the courage to meet one another’s humanity. Diverse voices are welcome. Our aim is to understand one another, learn and grow. We will anchor our gathering in ritual, beginning with song and concluding with Havdalah.
