Lunch will be served at 12 Noon. The FREE "Two Violins" Concert with Raphael Papo & Roni Shitrit will begin at 12:45 PM in the sanctuary and is open to the entire community.

Temple Emanuel requests the pleasure of your company for lunch and a free musical concert with musical duo Raphael Papo and Roni Shitrit! Â

Menu:
Vegetarian Chili, Salad, Bread Rolls & Cobbler for dessert. Â Water and lemonade will be provided.
Lunch is $5 per person RSVP by Monday, December 6.

About the musicians:
Roni Shitrit was born in 1999 in Israel. She began her violin studies with Mr. Oscar Shraiberman at the Ramla conservatory when she was 5 years old. She is currently pursuing .her undergraduate studies at UNCSA with Professors Ida Bieler and Janet Orenstein.
Roni is the first prize winner in the 2021 MTNA Young Artist National Competition, 1st prize and special prize winner in the Moscow international online competition (2021), 1st prize winner of the IMKA music competition (2021), and one of the prize-winners of a national competition in Israel (2017). In addition, Roni received scholarships with exceptional distinction on her performance from the American-Israel Cultural Foundation (2021) and scholarships from the Rotary club in Ramla, Israel (2015, 2018).
Roni was a member of the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra of the Jerusalem Music Centre. She participated in the David Goldman Chamber Music Program for Outstanding. Young Musicians, the Huberman Program, Keshet Eilon, and the Ilona Feher Violin Program.
Roni participated in masterclasses with many world-renowned violinists, including Benjamin Schmidt, Miriam Fried, Grigory Kalinovsky, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Michaela Martin, Michael Kopelman, Hagai Shaham, Daniel Heifetz, and more.
Raphael Papo is a British/Israeli violinist who studied at Wells Cathedral School for four years and is currently completing his undergraduate degree with Ida Bieler at UNCSA. In Wells, Raphael served as concertmaster of the school symphony orchestra and was a prominent leader in many ensembles.
After his graduation from Wells Cathedral School, Raphael moved to New York City to pursue his studies at Mannes School of Music, where he studied with Lewis Kaplan and furthered his orchestral playing as Principal 2nd violin and concertmaster in New York-based orchestras. After moving to North Carolina to study with Ida Bieler, Raphael discovered his passion for working and teaching young children and continues to work as part of the Vivaldi Project. Other than being a committed educator, he also works as a violinist in the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle in Durham.
Raphael has had lessons and masterclasses with several renowned violin professors from around the world including Shmuel Ashkenasi, Hagai Shaham, Yibin Lee, Jack Liebeck, Augustin Hadelich, Krysia Osostowicz, So-Ok Kim, David Fruwirth, Ralph de Souza, Matthew Souter, Karen Leishman, Catherine Lord, and Ulrich Eichenauer.
Recently Raphael was highly commended in the national MTNA competition in the US.
