About the event

Temple Emanuel's Immigration Sub-Committee is collaborating with Church World Service (CWS) and Jewish Family Services to set up an apartment for a recently arrived Guatemalan refugee family of 4. The family consists of Mom and Dad and 2 daughters (a 7-year-old and a 5-month-old). They have been in temporary housing, but we will have the opportunity to set up their permanent apartment on Sunday, March 12. We hope you will sign up to help transport items to the apartment and/or sign up to assist with the setup of the apartment on that date.

If you volunteer to help transport items to the apartment, you should meet us at 1:00 p.m. at the POD storage container. The POD storage container is located behind Temple Emanuel at the end of the service drive entrance. We will give you the location of the apartment when you arrive at the POD.

If you volunteer to help set up the apartment at the apartment location, an address in Greensboro will be sent to you closer to the date of the move. You should plan to meet us at the apartment at approximately 2:15 p.m. If you arrive and we are not there, please know that we are on our way and we should arrive shortly. If you sign up to assist, we will be counting on you to attend. Please inform us if your plans change with as much notice as possible.

This effort is supported by a Kraus Mini-Grant from the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism.
