Getting Involved: Brotherhood

Temple Emanuel Brotherhood

The purpose of the Brotherhood is to: cooperate with Temple Emanuel in stimulating Jewish religious activities; to foster cultural advancement among its membership; and to promote the spirit of comradeship among its membership.

Brotherhood membership is open to all adult male members of Temple Emanuel with annual dues of $40. Newcomers are granted first-year membership at no cost.

Brotherhood serves the Temple community in many ways: assisting other Temple committees and groups (TEPS, TERS, Membership, etc.) with set-up and clean-up; sponsoring the Purim festival; preparing and serving monthly dinners at the Greensboro Urban Ministry; preparing breakfast for Mitzvah Day participants; and hosting speakers and sponsoring political forums during election cycles.

Brotherhood sets up and takes down the Chanukah Menorah and the Sukkah at Temple Emanuel. We also help to support specific projects and safety-related programs.

Our officers for the 2006-2007 year are:

President - - Don Eckstein
1st Vice-President - - Steve Scheck
2nd Vice-President - - Keith Panzera
Secretary - - Alan Fields
Treasurer - - Paul Benson
Immediate Past President - - Michael Weisenfeld
